Jose Broca, (1805 – 1882), was a Spanish composer and a student of Dionisio Aguado. He was born in Reus, a province of Tarragona, and was later established in Barcelona. There, Brocá earned great renown for his playing of works by Sor and Aguado, and as a teacher. He was a friend of Julian Arcas and the teacher of Jose Ferrer and Felipe Pedrell. Brocá's works are elegant pieces in a similar style to that of Francisco Tarrega but written much earlier.
