Knowledge according to Webster's dictionary is defined as facts, information, and skills acquired by a person through experience or education. It is the theoretical or practical understanding of a subject.

A Word of Knowledge is different, because it is not acquired information. It is information or revelation revealed from God. It comes from the Heavenly father and Jesus through the Holy Spirit to an open vessel in the earth. I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now. Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come- John 16: 12-13.

A word of knowledge can be received in different forms. A few of those forms are the following: Verbal, Visual, or Physical. There may be more, but these are the three I will address in this workbook.
