Three Rings for the Elven-kings under the sky,
Seven for the Dwarf-lords in their halls of stone,
Nine for Mortal Men doomed to die,
One for the Dark Lord on his dark throne
In the Land of Mordor where the Shadows lie.
One Ring to rule them all, One Ring to find them,
One Ring to bring them all, and in the darkness bind them,
In the Land of Mordor where the Shadows lie.
-J.R.R. Tolkien

Above is the poem about the one ring in the Lord of The Rings books and movies. These socks were inspired by this powerful artifact. On the leg of the sock you can see the 19 rings that were distributed to the three elven-kings, the seven dwarf-lords and the nine mortal men. The one ring once again binds them all and is visible on the ball of the foot. These socks have an unusual construction. You start by knitting the one ring (the band) and then pick up stitches for the toe. After knitting the toe you pick up more stitches around the band and finish your sock toe-up.
