About This Oriel Preparation Book

As an OSPAP student, I understand how important the Oriel application and assessment process is for securing a foundation training place in the UK. This resource has been created from my own experience and understanding of the Oriel process, with the aim of helping fellow OSPAP and international pharmacy students prepare more confidently. A number of students who have used these materials have achieved very good scores and successfully secured foundation training opportunities, including hospital training placements. The book covers a range of questions, from easier to more challenging scenarios, and focuses on the different question types, key themes, expectations, and what you are actually being assessed on. I strongly recommend working through the material repeatedly—ideally 5–10 times—and, most importantly, understanding the themes and reasoning behind the questions rather than simply memorising answers. With consistent practice and a good understanding of the assessment style, you can significantly improve your confidence and give yourself the best possible opportunity to achieve a strong score.
