CGAU Test 1 Strategic Blueprint — Your 2-week plan to 17 August The foundation of the Test 1 study build. What to focus on, in what order, and how the whole programme fits into two weeks before the exam. What it is. A 15-page strategic document telling you what Test 1 will most likely test, what the later assessments have already taken off the table, and how to spend the two weeks to the exam on 17 August 2026. Built on ten Test 1 sittings (B21F through B26F, the latest March 2026), with every ISA, SAICA Code and Auditing Profession Act reference checked against the source standard. Why Test 1 is predictable. The same three clusters carry 54 to 58 of the 60 marks every sitting: professional conduct and legislation (the SAICA Code and the Auditing Profession Act), the risk suite (business risk and the risk of material misstatement at both levels), and controls (identifying, testing and diagnosing the client's systems). Introduction and planning is deliberately left out — the Big Three alone cover about 95% of the paper. King isn't tested here at all; it belongs to Test 2 and Finals, and knowing that saves you a wasted week. The examiner builds it the same way each time: an ethics scenario where a partner or client crosses a line, a reportable-irregularity twist off the same facts, a risk-harvest from the background, and a working paper hiding control weaknesses. The Blueprint ranks every topic by how likely it is to appear — from the SAICA Code and reportable irregularities (very high; the Code alone has run 14 to 18 marks lately) through the three-column weakness table to tests of controls. The 2-week plan. Week 1 is content; Week 2 is practice. Week 1 covers all three Big-Three topics — Topic 1 Conduct & Legislation, Topic 2 the Risk Suite, Topic 3 Controls — each with a study guide, a weekly question and a harder challenge question, and the live session works the content. Week 2 turns that coverage into exam performance: timed past papers chosen for full Big-Three coverage, then the 60-mark Sizwe Poultry mock as a dress rehearsal, with the live session used for revision. What comes with each topic pack. A topic guide (PDF) from first principles, a standard weekly question (PDF), and a harder exam-level challenge question (PDF). Every question ships with a four-part solution workbook (Excel): the scenario triggers, the standards those triggers point to, a framework for approaching the question, and a marked solution, point by point. The full programme is the Blueprint, three complete topic packs, the Week 2 practice-and-revision plan, and the 60-mark mock with its solution. Prepared by David Du Preez, CTA Thrive Coach.
