Drums By Numbers

Drums By Numbers - a collection of drum rhythms using numbers rather than musical notation. During my teaching practice I have found these to be very accessible for beginner pupils as well as those with SEND conditions.

The rhythms and strategies used in this book have been developed over many years during drumming sessions with hundreds of students in schools. A significant number of these students had difficulties with learning in the school environment and many were eventually diagnosed as needing extra support.

The Drums By Numbers teaching has been effective with many students starting the drums and especially students with dyslexia (which is often diagnosed years after starting lessons). Other SEND conditions that the teaching has been effective with include autism, ADHD and dyspraxia.
