The Caller at 917
Every evening at 9:17, another warning arrives.
Community radio presenter Ada is used to messages about lost dogs and local meetings. An anonymous caller changes that routine with a few unsettling words about a bridge due to reopen. Each new message points toward an inspection nobody can produce—and a project her own brother helped complete.
With the public celebration approaching, Ada follows a trail of incomplete documents, uneasy assurances, and a voice she cannot identify. Broadcasting too soon could damage innocent people. Waiting too long could leave important questions unanswered. A suspenseful short mystery about family loyalty, public trust, and the difference between hearing a warning and knowing what to believe.
