When you buy a kit you will receive the printed pattern, yarn, and the number of stitch markers required for the pattern, all packaged in a gorgeous aluminium tin with a hinged lid.
Calon Cariad is a bottom up shawl with a deep lace border and a single heart motif near the top of the centre back. It has short row shaping to add depth to the shawl and is fully written with charts provided as well.
You can follow this shawl pattern either with the written instructions only or by using the charts for the lace sections. Please note that there are some rows (including all the short row shaping) not included in the charts, so please read the pattern in full before beginning.
My pink (Erika Knight Wool Local) sample on the kit cover used 630m/140g. If your gauge is looser than that stated in the pattern you are likely to need more yarn, or you can make the shawl shorter, casting off the top edge sooner. Please note this kit contains cream coloured yarn (Fairfax).
This design requires the use of 22 stitch markers, which are included in the kit.
Yarn: Erika Knight Wool Local (100% wool, 450/100g), 1.5 skeins Fairfax (cream)
Stitch Markers: 22 bulb pin stitch markers
Needles required: 4mm (US 6) x 100cm circular needle.
