SALT – Let the Salt Be Found Salty by Bro H

[Verse 1] Salt does not vanish in a day Or cease to bear its name; The foreign matter enters in, The outside looks the same. The active substance leaches out, Pale residue remains; A church may keep its steeple When preserving power is gone. The pulpits stand, the crowds still come, The creeds are spoken well; But heavenly doctrine was exchanged For what this age would sell. The form remains religious, The covenant strength is gone; A nation filled with saltless forms Cannot hold back the wrong. [Chorus] Let the salt be found salty, Let the watchman sound the horn; Let the pulpit name the tyrant, Let the sleeping men be warned. Salt was never made for hiding While the body rots away; Hold the ground the Lord appointed— “Occupy till I come.” [Verse 2] Good for nothing, Christ declared— Cast out, trodden underfoot. Those appointed to preserve Are ruled by what they failed to judge. The courts, the schools, the government Now trample righteous law; The gates prevail where savorless men Refuse the Kingdom’s call. The meetings grew, the numbers rose, But bars stayed open, laws grew worse; The failure was not lack of converts— The salt had lost preserving force. Salt without savor cannot guard A household or a land. [Verse 3] “Neither cold nor hot,” He said, “I will spue thee out of My mouth.” Lukewarm faith takes middle ground While corruption spreads throughout. It calls retreat humility And silence Christian peace; It waits inside a foxhole While corrupting powers increase. The rapture taught the people To abandon every field, To wait for sudden rescue And let the nation yield. But Christ did not command retreat Or tell His men to run; He gave His servants Kingdom ground: “Occupy till I come.” [Verse 4] While men slept, the leaven entered Home, church, the government too; It hid within three measures Till the whole was leavened through. Communism made man serve The godless will of the State; Evolution cut the creature From the One who did create. Psychoanalysis made morals Servants of appetite; Racial equalitarianism Denied the law of kind. Textual liberalism struck the Word; Dispensationalism taught retreat; Then Zionism crowned the Edomite And laid true Israel at his feet. [Historical] Luther faced the Holy Roman Empire, The Word above both pope the throne. Black-robed preachers faced the Crown And would not leave their post. Jefferson indicted tyranny; Finney charged the pulpit’s crime. Coughlin named the money power Till they drove him from the line. Kingdom preachers named the people, Jacob scattered through the West; They named the foe, exposed the fraud, And would not bargain for rest. The salted soldier holds his ground When silence pays the most; He counts the truth above his gain— He occupies his post. [Verse 5] Let every word be full of grace And seasoned well with salt: Truth without the flattering tongue, Judgment naming every wrong. The prophet brings the charge of God Without a softened phrase; He will not trade the people’s lives For salary or praise. Salt does not ask corruption For permission to preserve; Light does not consult the darkness Before the lamp is raised. The world is dying for the salt That burns where rot has grown; Let the sons of God be manifest— Let the Kingdom truth be known. [Final Chorus] Let the salt be found salty, Let the watchman sound the horn; Let the pulpit name the tyrant, Let the sleeping men be warned. Salt was never made for hiding While the body rots away; Hold the ground the Lord appointed— “Occupy till I come.” Let the salt be found salty, Let the light expose the wrong; Let the city show His order, Let the scattered tribes stand strong. Preserve what He entrusted; Name the powers that betray. Salt does not ask permission— Withstand in the evil day. [Outro] Salt that preserves nothing Is good for nothing. Let the salt Be found salty.
