The Wells of Vashara
For eleven years, the fountains of Vashara have stood dry while the
city's poorest wards endure rationing. Then one morning water begins
climbing upward through the stones, defying every law engineer Adira
Sen understands. With apprentice Fez beside her, Adira follows the
impossible flow into a system of buried channels, official
measurements, and secrets the ruling council would rather keep sealed.
Saving the city will mean finding out who controls its water—and who
has been forced to pay for it.
