ZOOKEEPER (MP3)

This poem was written in 2010, during a time when I was experiencing "the monkeys" on me so heavily that I didn't know how I was gonna get through the pain. Then I met a woman who was in even more pain than I was, and "Zookeeper" was written after our interaction. It has been a staple in my performance pieces since then, and it continues to wake people up to their mindset and invite them to embrace their power and courage to take proper care for themselves physically and emotionally.

You will never live the life you truly want with all those monkeys running the show. Fight for your happiness. Get 'em off your back.
