Going to the Doctor: Newfound Mobility Word Art Digital Scrapbooking Kit
This expansion to my "Going to the Doctor" collection is in honor of my uncle who had a below-the-knee amputation on one leg and toes amputation on the other a year ago. I know this is a pretty specific topic, but I'm also aware that, unfortunately, there aren't many positive graphics of people living with limb differences. My uncle is living in a care facility and has his own apartment there. He is back to being able to take care of himself, is almost as fast in his chair as I am walking while grocery shopping, and can walk with his prostheses (leg and toes) across a basketball court without supports. I'm so proud of him for making these crucial life changes and finding who he really is again.
This digital scrapbooking kit includes 111 word strips with words and phrases relating to life during and after amputation. I've included a variety of terms that have come up in conversations with my uncle during this last year. I realize that people who have limb differences don't all use the same terms, and some terms can be polarizing for some, but these are all terms that my uncle uses. If you would like to make other words and phrases, the font I used for these is "Embossing Tape" version 3 and the papers are from my patterned paper kit.
The "Going to the Doctor" collection includes the following kits:
