Pumpkin Spice Socks

Pumpkin Spice Socks are worked cuff down in mosaic colorwork, utilizing only one color in each round. Karen really enjoys the movement of the knit and slip stitches and finds them very relaxing. Her inspiration was to have cozy socks to wear in fall. She feels this pattern and its colors just bring a warm, fuzzy feeling.

Materials and Sizing information:

YARN

• Malabrigo Arroyo in Sunset (MC): 1 skein, or approx 153 (191, 235, 295) yds/140 (175, 215, 270) m of DK/Sport Weight yarn

• Malabrigo Arroyo in Choco (CC): 1 skein, or approx 66 (82, 104, 131) yds/60 (75, 95, 120) m of DK/Sport Weight yarn

NEEDLES

• US 4/3.5mm double pointed needles or circular needle at least 32”/80 cm long for Magic Loop

• US 2.5/3.0 mm double pointed needles or circular needle at least 32”/80 cm long for Magic Loop

or sizes needed to obtain gauge.

NOTIONS

• 1 stitch marker

• tape measure, tapestry needle, and waste yarn

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS

Sizes: 1 (2, 3, 4)

a - FOOT CIRCUMFERENCE: 6.75 (8.5, 10.25, 12)” / 17 (21.5, 25.5, 30) cm

b - FOOT LENGTH: 8 (9, 10.5, 11.5)“/20 (22.5, 26.5, 29) cm

c - LEG LENGTH: 6 (7.5, 7.5, 7.5)”/15 (19, 19, 19) cm

Foot and leg lengths are provided for reference as these can be knit to preference.

Recommended to be worn with 0.75”- 1”/2 cm-2.5 cm negative ease at Location A and 0.5”- 1”/1.5 cm-2.5 cm negative ease at Location B.

Model is wearing a size 2 with 1.5”/4 cm negative ease at Location A.

GAUGE (BLOCKED)

28 sts x 40 rounds = 4”/10 cm in mosaic pattern on larger needle

For accurate swatching measurements, work swatch in the round, then wash and block your swatch in the same manner that you will wash and block your finished object.

NOTES

• These are cuff-down socks, worked in a mosaic pattern using slip and knit stitches in two colors. All slip stitches are worked purlwise with yarn in back.

• The heel is worked using the afterthought heel method.
