Over Looking The Mitta Valley, Tallangatta East, Victoria Australia.

Cattle farmers arrived in the area from 1835 and took up the fertile land in the valleys and surrounding bush. Mitta Mitta was developed as a mining town in the latter half of the 1800s with the discovery of gold. The township received a police station in 1859 and in 1870 the first post office was opened.

The main channel of the Mitta Mitta forms at the confluence of Cobungra River and the Big River, and then flows northwards through near-pristine forest to Dartmouth Dam. After Dartmouth Dam, the Mitta Mitta meanders north-west through a wide valley to the south arm of the Hume Dam.

Since arriving In Albury, I have taken many photos from Albury, Lavington, Wodonga, along the Murray River. From Lake Hume, Mitta Mitta Valley, Tallangatta East and Tallangatta all of which are in NSW and Victoria Australia. I go, where-ever my camera may point.
