These socks were designed for the Fangirl Fibers "Pink Nightmare" Christmas Eve Cast-On box for 2021.
Ever get jealous of Ralphie and wish that your feet could have those fluffy little bunnies staring sappily up at you? Now you too can look like a deranged Easter bunny! These socks are sure to do Aunt Clara proud. Cables evoking the look of rabbit ears twist their way down the front of your foot, while a column of purl stitches reminiscent of a zipper runs down the back of your leg - because you can’t get into footie pajamas without a zipper!
The specialized ribbing might seem fiddly at first, but it keeps your socks from sagging like Ralphie’s pink sleeves, and the odd rhythm of knits and purls leads directly into the cables and the “zipper” on the back. The pattern is written for a heel-flap-and-gusset construction, but feel free to substitute any heel you’d prefer. Both written and charted instructions are included for the cable.
