F. Kroeber Parlor c. 1885-1898
This imposing Victorian mantel clock is a striking example of the imaginative work produced by the renowned F. Kroeber Clock Company of New York City.
Florence Kroeber was celebrated across late 19th-century America for defying standard, cookie-cutter factory shapes in favor of dramatic, sculptural cases. Crafted in warm American walnut, this clock features a bold arched pediment, lathe-turned baluster side columns, and a multi-stepped plinth base with a diamond plaque. Just below the dial, an arched pendulum access portal is highlighted by a cast silvered lion's head mount.
