Teach more than the answers. Help children memorize the Children’s Catechism while opening the Bible, talking through what the answers mean, singing the questions, and learning through simple hands-on activities.

A flexible, hands-on Children’s Catechism curriculum

Designed for parents and teachers who want catechism to be more than recitation, with Scripture, conversation, music, and hands-on learning woven in.

Volume 1 includes 22 ready-to-use lessons covering Questions 1–63, designed primarily for ages 4–10.

What's inside each lesson:

  • The Children’s Catechism questions and answers
  • The Big Truth, a simple summary of the doctrine being taught
  • Carefully selected Bible passages and Scripture memory (often with a shorter option for younger children)
  • Direct links to catechism songs and other music on YouTube
  • Optional reading recommendations from favorite children’s theology books
  • Conversation prompts that help you move beyond memorization as well as notes for parents and teachers
  • Hands-on activities, art projects, games, or printables
  • Prayer prompts

You do not need to do everything.

Use one lesson during a single Morning Time by reading the catechism questions, listening to the songs, opening the Bible together, and choosing the pieces that fit your time. Or spread a lesson across several days or even a couple of weeks.

The guide can also work for Sunday school classes, homeschool co-ops, and other small-group settings.

Some popular Children’s Catechism resources, including Ask Me Whoo and Big Truths for Little Kids, use the Great Commission Publications numbering, which does not always match the 1840 Children’s Catechism used in this guide.

You do not need to sort that out yourself. Each lesson tells you exactly which songs and chapters correspond with the questions you are teaching.

What you need: Just this guide and a Bible.

Books and music recommended throughout the curriculum are completely optional and you might already have them!
