This pattern comes with an extra PDF to help you to identify the front pocket pieces. Please note that this is for illustration only and is not to scale. Not all of the components occur in every pattern and it is not specific to this particular pattern. It is only there to help.

When you buy this pattern, you have my permission to make this bag to sell- no mass production allowed of course but a few to sell at craft fairs or online, that sort of thing is fine. All I ask is that you credit me as the designer. I wish you all the success in the world with sales!

All measurements are in INCHES.

I love shopping at the markets here in Europe but I have to admit, the right sort of bag makes the experience even better. The bag that you choose has to be large enough to take a few purchases and it has to open nice and wide – deep bags are great but you can lose things in the bottom and things can get a bit sat on as you walk around and add bits and pieces. And the straps cannot be too stringy because after a while they hurt and you cannot think about anything else. This bag is the answer! It is strong enough to take a lot, comfortable to carry and roomy too.

Pattern features:
-extra wide straps for comfort
-inner slip pockets
-a roomy front zipper pocket
-wide and spacious interior

Pattern rating: confident beginner with some bag making skills assumed.
Finished Size: 24” wide x 12 “ high x 5” deep

What do you need to make it-
Fabric:
¾ yd. – 1 yd. canvas for the outer
1 yd. lining fabric. Pure cotton is the easiest to handle

Interfacing:
1 ½ yds. Style-vil foam interfacing (Vlieseline) or By Annie's Soft & Stable
Fat eighth S320 fusible interfacing (Vlieseline), alternatively, Pellon Craft Fuse

Everything Else:
8” #5 metal zipper for the front pocket to coordinate with your fabric. If using continuous, please cut 1 1/2" longer than stated to allow for the end tapes.
30” x 5” leather or vegan leather to decorate the handles and the zipper pull. I love to buy scrap bags from eBay and similar sellers. They have some fantastic finds for bag makers.
Stud closure
3 ¼ yds. cotton webbing 2” wide for the handles. This is slightly more than needed but it frays and it needs to be levelled so the extra is handy to have. Save any good offcuts for tabs on other bags.
Fabric glue
Coordinating threads for all fabrics and trims
