NILA is a crescent shaped shawl worked sideways with one skein of fingering weight yarn. It is designed as a stylish lightweight accessory, useful for wrapping around the neck during the chilly spring/summer evenings.
I have kept the body simple with bias garter stitch but added a decorative twisted stitch border with delicate knot stitches which settles stylishly around the neck.
The word ‘Nila’ means moon in Tamil (a south Indian language). This shawl is shaped with a pronounced curvature that reminds me of the crescent moon.

Length : 62” / 158 cm.
Depth : 13.25” / 34 cm.

450 yards / 411 m of fingering weight yarn.

This shawl is designed to use up one skein of fingering weight yarn. However, you can make it using a different yarn weight or yardage. The best way to go about it is to weigh your skein before starting the project and to stop increasing when you have a little over 50% of your skein left.

1 skein of SincereSheep Terroir Fiber Series Cormo Fingering; 100% Cormo Wool;
