Anger is not the problem. What happens next is. This workbook treats teens like they can figure out their own anger, because they can, if someone gives them good questions and stays out of the way.

What's included:

• The truth about anger (it is information, not a character flaw)

• My triggers checklist

• How it builds in my body and my earliest sign

• How I heat up: what I feel, what people see, and what I say as it builds

• What it has cost me and what I actually want

• Thinking traps and tools rated by the teen, ending in their own plan

How I'd use it:

Use it one on one or in a small group, a few pages at a time. Do not do it right after a blowup. The cost page is the one that lands, because nobody is lecturing. The teen does the math. Their plan at the end is in their words.

The workbook is written to teens, not about them. The language is direct and a little funny in places, without being preachy. It is a good fit for counseling groups, a resource class, or one on one work with a student who has had a rough stretch. Pages can be used in order or pulled one at a time. The tools rating page is especially useful to share with the student's team.

Who it's for: Teens, counselors, and teachers. Grades 6 to 12.
