Yarn: Fingering weight in two colors, approximately 400 yds./366 m of the main color and 290 yds./265 m of the contrast color
Shown in Dusty Tree DyeWorks ROOT DREAM (100% superwash American Merino; 400 yds./366 m per 3.5 oz./100 g skein) in Blurred Lines and Blazing

Needles: US 6 (4.0 mm), or size needed to obtain gauge

Gauge: 16 stitches and 34 rows = 4 inches in garter stitch, after blocking

Finished Dimensions: 58 in./147.5 cm wide along top edge (excluding leaves) and 27 in./68.5 cm deep at center spine

This shawl has a little bit of everything to keep you entertained: easy garter stitch, stripes, slipped stitches, short rows, and eyelets. It highlights two beautiful skeins of hand-dyed yarn and adds a hint of whimsy with the decorative leaves added to the ends of the top edge.

This shawl calls for two skeins of fingering weight yarn. You will use all or nearly all of the main color, approximately 400 yds./366 m, and about three-quarters of the contrast color. Though gauge is not critical, even slight differences in gauge can have an impact on the amount of yarn used. If you are working to a different gauge, be sure you have enough yarn (particularly of the main color) to complete your shawl.
