This unit is designed for Grades 6 - 9 and gives an extensive overview of musical development in the Twentieth Century.   Eight composers have been chosen to show the wide variety of composition that took place during this time.
Biographies and activities for comprehension, music, creative writing, map studies, research, art and drama are provided.  Also included are a time line showing world events, and important dates in music, art, architecture, literature and drama, suggestions for using the unit, evaluation sheets and answer keys.  (118 pages)
