The turn of the millennium brought us into the age of information. Information benefitted us with content. The content that we consume to keep us up to date, educate and entertain ourselves with. The age of information came along with search keywords and social media morphed them into hashtags. These keywords and hashtags play a vital role in developing understanding for the algorithms and machines to know what we humans need and require, as they offer their services for bringing us more relevant and personalized content.
Now that we are interacting with digital products for taking a ride to work or getting food delivered to our doorstep, buying boots online or enrolling to an online course, following certain companies or people on social media or posting our own life happenings. We are not telling our story to people anymore, we are opening ourselves to a new realm based on the logic of 1s and 0s, where there are no grey areas, only black and white.
With people we can maintain what to share and what not to, with these apps, we are practically transparent.
