A bit about me

I fell in love with black ink years ago and decided to dedicate my focus entirely to this medium. Over the past five years, I have developed a style that blends free, fluid movement with rich, intricate textures - a practice I still refine almost every day. I am so happy to share my techniques and approaches with you, and I hope they help you move forward with confidence in whatever art you choose to create.

Vibrant Drawing with Ink — Main Principles in Less Than 30 Minutes

I first came across Ksenia Topaz’s work on Instagram and watched her drawings several times. Then I discovered this course, and I’m so happy I decided to buy it.

The course is both inspiring and very practical, especially when it comes to her techniques.

I loved learning about her approach, tools, and way of seeing and drawing.

It’s wonderful how openly she shares everything and explains her process, making it possible to actually try her approach yourself.

But I’m especially grateful for the wisdom she shares about the emotional side of drawing. I believe we draw not only to learn technique, but also because it gives us pleasure and allows us to express our own vision of life.

I highly recommend this course to anyone who wants to create vibrant, expressive drawings and enjoy the process.

It demonstrate exactly what the title says

I loved it all! I have some of tools. I follow Karen Samper that uses the same tools.
I love your work . similar to what I like to draw.
I would like to know what kind of ink do you use? can you combine charcoal with the ink. I have charcoal powder.
Do you recommend doing a pencil sketch or is it better to use the tools from the start.

Thank you so much! I'm really happy to hear you enjoyed the lesson!

I mostly use Talens Indian Ink and Winsor & Newton Indian Ink. Both are waterproof, which means I can add white on top if I need to make adjustments or bring back highlights.

I've never tried combining ink with charcoal, but why not? I think the main thing is to compare the tones. Some charcoals are a little warmer or cooler than certain inks, so I'd recommend making a few small tests first to see if they work well together.

As for sketching first, if you already have enough experience with ink—or simply enjoy a bit of adventure - I would encourage you to draw without a pencil sketch. That's how I work, and one of the things I love most is being surprised by the drawing as it develops.

If you do start with a pencil sketch, I'd suggest thinking of it as a guide rather than something to fill in. Instead of coloring inside the pencil lines, let them simply recommend where things might go, and allow yourself the freedom to change and respond to the drawing as it evolves.
