Published originally in 1905, Hern Bishop’s Guardian tells the story of a young man trying to make his way in the world without a father.  Working for the railroad, the boy makes an error in judgment that could have been catastrophic but is saved from the consequences by a combination of his own good character and the good character of a man tasked by his late father’s dying words to “look after the little lad...”
