Identifying and Managing Burnout for Mental Health Professionals (2 CEs)

The mental health crisis is not alleviating any time soon, and provider burnout is both the result of and a contributing factor to the provider shortage. Many are leaving the field due to burnout. While systemic issues contributing to burnout are not within the control of individual providers, we can take steps to identify, prevent, and manage burnout symptoms in order to care for ourselves and be able to show up for our clients. Additionally, those who employ mental health professionals have a responsibility to create a work environment that protects their employees from burnout. This course provides concrete, actionable steps for both practitioners and leadership to address issues of burnout, including homework assignments that involve directly implementing these lessons into your daily life.

The course consists of a one-hour, 20 minute video and three 15-minute homework assignments, for a total of two CE credits.

Content Note: This course includes discussion of difficult topics including suicide.
