I had been dreaming of a casual summer sweater to pull over when the sea breeze is cool: It should be in a natural color, ideally in slub cotton for warmer months, with a hint of wool though to keep the shape... And my search for the perfect yarn on the Internet was not very fructuous... One day, in a La Droguerie’s store in my town, I came across this yarn named Provençale. The sweater should be named after this yarn to celebrate my “encounter” with this nearly perfect yarn! To fully enjoy it, the sweater can be worn on both sides. It’s a modified drop-shoulder sweater with a slight sleeve cap shaping to remove the bulk under the sleeve and improve the “fit”. As any self-respecting marine style garment, the sweater has a boat neckline, made in a rather particular way. I hope you enjoy knitting it as much as wearing it.
