5th Grade Name Art Grade 5 Emoji Art Project Zen Doodle Line Art Back to School
This 5th Grade Emoji Zen Doodle Name Art Lesson turns each student's name into a bold line art design filled with Zen Doodle patterns, emojis, color, symbols and personality. Students explore the Element of Art: Line, along with pattern, texture, emphasis, visual communication and identity, while creating an artwork that is completely their own.
Students design thick name letters, fill each letter with detailed Zen Doodle patterns, then create emojis to represent parts of their identity. The finished artwork is colorful and personal, and it fits Back to School, Meet the Teacher, All About Me activities, name art lessons, elementary art and homeschool Grade 5. If you tell fifth graders they get to make art with their name and emojis, you have already won half the battle.

WHAT STUDENTS LEARN
Students learn how line quality, repetition, pattern, spacing, shape and texture can transform simple marks into detailed Zen Doodle artwork. They also explore how emojis work as visual communication, and how images and symbols can communicate emotions, ideas, reactions and identity.
It is a good way for students to introduce themselves at the start of the year while still practicing meaningful art skills. The finished name artworks work well for Open House, classroom community building, hallway displays, bulletin boards and student portfolios.
