Minimalism Through Christ
By Kimani Upshur, M.Ed.
Your house is full, and your heart feels it. The overstuffed closet and the overstuffed schedule come from the same root — we accumulate things, commitments, and distractions, and then wonder why we feel heavy.
Minimalism Through Christ is biblical minimalism, older and deeper than any trend. It is not about white walls, empty counters, or owning the least. It is about freedom: a heart unowned by its possessions, a life ordered around what matters, a soul light enough to run. Scripture does not hate things — it warns about what things do to us.
The whole book moves in three words: Release. Choose. Keep. Release what weighs you down — laying aside every weight, guarding against covetousness, and walking room by room through the house. Choose what matters on purpose — contentment with food and clothing, a guarded gate against the never-satisfied eye, and treasure directed where you want your heart to follow. Keep the simple life you built — smaller with peace, hours guarded, wise company, and the secret of contentment in whatever situation, through Him who strengthens you.
Every chapter opens with God's Word (ESV) and ends with one move to make this week. Twelve chapters, twelve days: open your Bible, open your notebook, and open that closet you have been avoiding.
Written from a Christian worldview — Scripture first.
