This cowl was designed to show off the beautiful drape and heathered colour effect in this alpaca yarn.
It is knit in the round with a simple lace panel inspired by late summer sunlight passing through trees.
It can be worn pulled up as a hood, or slouched around the neck. The size can be easily adjusted, by changing the number of pattern repeats worked.

The pattern includes written and charted instructions for the lace panel.

Gauge: 19 st over 10 cm in stocking stitch using 4.5 mm circular needle, 60 cm long.
Gauge is not critical for fit of this project, but will affect the amount of yarn used. I had just 3.5 metres left over from this project!

Yarn: 200 metres / 219 yards of DK weight yarn. The sample uses 1 skein of Juniper Moon Farm Herriot Heathers, in the shade 1007 Mountains Majesty

Notions: Darning needle for weaving in ends. Stitch markers to mark beginning of round. Towel, pins, flat surface for blocking.
