Aghla slipover

This slip over features a mock cable lace pattern up the centre front as well as a colourblock gradient created by

using two colours of 4-ply sock yarn held together - offering you the opportunity to have fun with colour.

I chose a variegated yarn and a solid colour to get the effect I wanted. If you prefer, use two solid colours to

create your gradient. For a contrast stripe effect you could use three colours of 4-ply held double but the yarn

amounts would be different to those given here.

The two strands of 4-ply held together give a similar fabric as a heavier aranweight yarn.

Two shades of wool rich 4-ply approx 400m per 100g

Yarn A: 2 [2:2:2:2:2:2:2:3:3] x 100g skeins in Shroom

Yarn B: 2 [2:2:2:2:2:2:2:3:3] x 100g skeins in Silbermond

Sample in Riverknits Nene 4-ply 100% British Blue Face

1 circular 4.5mm needle

TENSION

18 sts and 24 rows to 10cm over st st using 5mm needles

and two strands of yarn held together.

Lace panel is 11cm wide.
