I was so impressed with Lanas Stop York Merino and couldn’t wait to make something with it. Messing around with stitch patterns and swatching for a larger item, I found I had pretty much made a small scarf. A simple crochet edging was attached and voila, the York Scarflette was finished.

Instructions are for sport weight yarn, but you could use an Aran, Worsted, Chunky / Bulky yarn if you wished, instructions on adjusting your stitch count are included. You should be able to stash bust (or treat yourself if you prefer) and knock up som great gifts either for yourself or someone knitworthy.

I heartily recommend the York Merino, it’s super soft and this little scarflette has been dragged in and out of my sample bags, travelled to Woolfest, been worn throughout this Autumn/Winter and still looks fabulous.

By adding some tiny pearl buttons, I was able to wear the scarflette as a cowl, the buttons were placed at the lower edge of one side, where the scarflette wrapped over the neck and just popped nicely through the crochet border without the need for any buttonholes. They are also small enough to pop through the sides of the piece making it more versatile.

With grateful thanks to PeacockMom who tested the pattern and provided such wonderful photos.
