The Nia Cardigan Pattern
The Nia Cardigan | Lightweight Tunisian Crochet Cardigan Pattern
The Nia Cardigan is a lightweight, cropped Tunisian crochet cardigan pattern with a relaxed fit, deep V-neck, striped fabric, and plenty of ways to customize the finished garment.
Choose between two very different yarn approaches. Alternate fingering weight yarn with a lace-weight fluff yarn such as suri or mohair for soft, airy stripes, or work Nia entirely in two colors of fingering weight yarn for a cleaner, more defined fabric.
The pattern includes instructions for both long and short sleeves, so you can create a version that works for your wardrobe and your climate.
Nia is designed as a cropped cardigan, but the fit is highly customizable. The pattern includes guidance for:
• adding extra body length
• adjusting sleeve length
• making the sleeves more fitted or more relaxed
• customizing the wrist fit
• adjusting button placement to suit your buttons
Nia is worked flat beginning at the bottom of the back panel. The back is worked upward and split for the neckline and shoulders. The front panels are then picked up and shaped to create the deep V-neck. Sleeves are picked up from the shoulder area and worked flat before the ribbing, button band, blocking, and seaming are completed.
The main fabric uses Tunisian simple stitch, making this a great garment project for an adventurous beginner or intermediate Tunisian crochet maker.
A full video tutorial is included to help with the construction and finishing techniques used throughout the pattern.
