Get a new pattern and make a donation! This pattern is now free but with a request you make a donation to a charity of your choice.

It’s hard for us to imagine what the people of Ukraine are going through right now - and there’s a need to want to help in some way. One of the best things we can do is donate to the charities and organisations that are on the ground in Ukraine and can best support the people. This pattern is to help raise funds.

UPDATE! In the first 36 hours of releasing this pattern we raised an AMAZING $11200 AUD for UNICEF Ukraine Emergency Appeal.  THANK YOU.

We have met and well surpassed our target goal for fundraising. The pattern is now a free download with a request to PLEASE donate to a charity or organisation that is supporting Ukraine. Ensure it's a registered charity (and if in your own home country, you can check if it's a tax deductible donation). Organisations such as UNICEF, Red Cross, Caritas, and Medecins Sans Frontiers are a good place to start.

The pattern makes a 12" block. It's perfect for using up scraps of fabric. A colouring sheet is included so you can work out fabric placement before you start sewing.
Included in the pattern: Assembly instructions, colouring sheet and full sized templates with a quarter inch seam allowance already added. There are no Y-seams in this pattern (or in any of my patterns).

Foundation paper piecing instructions are not included, but you can find tutorials on my website at quietplaydesigns.com. It is recommended that you print the pattern at "Actual Size" and with no scaling. There are also printing hints & tips on my website.

This is a digital PDF pattern. Once your order is complete, you will receive an email with a download link. It should be an instant download but on rare occasions, it may take a little longer. Please save the pattern to your computer/USB/cloud storage so that you always have access to it.
You will get a PDF (680KB) file

Sunflowers for hope

I made this yesterday and quilted it today. It’s going to be hung on the pulpit at church as we welcome Ukrainian families to our homes. Thank you for designing it to support Ukraine 🇺🇦 🌻

UNICEF's Children in Ukraine initiative

Thank you for the beautiful pattern. It's currently beyond my skill level but I have saved the download for 'someday' and donated to UNICEF's Children in Ukraine initiative.

Wonderful pattern - thank you

Donated through Samaritan's Purse as they've already set up field hospitals on the Ukraine border. Will use the block in our Quilts for the children of Ukraine

Lovely pattern.

Thank you for devising this pattern. I started it yesterday, finished piecing it today. I think I will make it into a wall hanging to put in my front window. I haven't donated to you as I have donated to Disasters Emergency Committee who are collecting for the Ukraine.
The pattern is so easy, that I hardly had to refer back to the instructions.
God bless you.
Catherine.

In Gratitude

Thank you so much, not only for the pattern but also for the reminder re. my donation. It is midnight here in Nova Scotia, Canada so I will make my donation to the red cross tomorrow morning. Our federal government will match any donations made in March, so that is great.

Kids and Sunflowers

They go together don't they! Love the pattern and thanks for giving us the opportunity to help out. We feel pretty helpless - but maybe a little ray of sunshine.

Wonderful idea!

What a wonderful fundraiser for Ukraine which is near and dear to my heart. I love the sunflowers and am searching for the perfect yellow/orange fabrics to make the quilt. Thank you for your generosity and open heart, Kristy.
