Annata The XOLO who made History

Annata: The Xolo Who Made History

By Jacqi Xolo

She made history simply by being born. What followed was a life I could never have imagined.

Annata was the first Xoloitzcuintle born in Australia. From her earliest days, she faced extraordinary medical challenges—but she was so much more than the little dog we fought to keep alive.

She was cheeky, determined and full of character. She loved her family, expected to be included in everything and had a particular fondness for anyone willing to blow raspberries.

Through frightening emergencies, remarkable veterinary care and the everyday moments that made us smile, this is our journey together. A true story of courage, love and determination, with laughter, tears and an incredible dog who taught me so much.

Featuring photographs from Annata’s life, this memoir is for anyone who has loved an animal and knows how deeply one small life can change your own.
