Beef Cattle Supplement and Mineral Balancer
This spreadsheet tool allows beef cattle producers to determine supplementation for protein, energy and minerals based on their forage report. Producers simply input some information about the beef cattle to be fed including weight and class. Then input information obtained from a forage report. This will generate a forage report interpretation. This first interpretive analysis compares livestock nutritional requirements to the nutritional value and properties of the forage.
Next, the producer can input information about their intended supplement for protein and energy. This spreadsheet will provide how much supplement should be fed per head per day. Additionally, if the cost information is provided the cost per head per day is also calculated.
Then, information from the mineral supplement tag is taken into account. The final analysis determines the estimated intake of all nutrients from protein down to micronutrients including zinc and copper. Based on this analysis, the final report will show producers any potential deficiencies or toxicities in the final diet.
