Why a picture of the sea and rocky cove? The sea can have a soothing and calming effect through the senses by looking and listening to the ocean. Similar to the sea, fabric can flow, offer comfort, be cooling or warming and stimulating or still. Some fabrics have the opposite effect, like the rocky cove, feel rough, harsh and sharp despite their beauty. Both calm and non-calm materials have the potential to support or soothe, and as the rocky cove frames the seascape, the way we wear and utilise fabric, fixings and our clothing can enable sensory comfort.
