I have been teaching yoga for over a decade. What no one prepared me for was the business side of it.

I knew how to hold a room, sequence a class, and guide someone back to their breath. But I had no idea how to find paid work, what to charge, how to pitch a studio or a company without feeling pushy, or how to explain what made me different. So I undercharged. I waited to be discovered. I watched teachers with less experience get booked simply because they knew how to put themselves out there, and I did not. That gap is not a talent problem. It is a skills problem, and it is completely learnable.

Things changed when I stopped seeing myself as only a teacher and started seeing myself as a teacher and a business owner. I learned to plan with intention, to pitch with honesty, to price my work as the professional service it is, and to focus on a niche instead of trying to be everything to everyone. The moment I did, students started seeking me out. Corporate classes, private clients, and referrals followed. Teaching finally felt sustainable, soulful, and mine.
