🌐 The Interactive Sensory Equipment Guide
Compare sensory equipment before you spend the money or make room for it.
A swing might look great online, but how much space does it need?
How does it move?
What does it take to set it up?
And would your child enjoy using it?
This guide puts those answers in one place, so you can look through your options and think through what could work in your home.
You get 48 equipment options across 11 categories, with over 150 links to products you can shop.
What you can compare
Each equipment page shows you:
- How much room it takes up
- How much space it needs when someone is using it
- How quiet or noisy it is
- What’s involved in setting it up
- What to check for your child’s age and size
- How it moves
- Different ways it can be used
- What to know about supervision
- What kids might enjoy about it
- Things that could make it a poor fit
- Safety points to check before using it
Everything is laid out the same way, which makes the differences easier to see.
You can compare the equipment, then open product links to look at the options available.

Why I made it
I’m a homeschooling mom of three, and I’ve spent more than a decade choosing and using sensory equipment in our family home.
I know how much there is to think about beyond whether something looks fun. We still need room to walk through the house. Different kids enjoy different kinds of movement. Some equipment takes more setup or supervision than we expect.
My husband is a licensed general contractor with a background in structural engineering. His experience helped shape the questions about setup and space included in the guide.
I put all of this together to make equipment shopping easier to understand.
A few things to know
The guide helps you compare your options. You make the final choice based on your child, your home, and the specific product you’re considering.
For equipment that attaches to a ceiling, wall, or doorway, you’ll still need to check whether your home can support it and how it should be installed. A qualified professional can help with those questions.
Before buying or using equipment, check the manufacturer’s instructions, age and weight limits, space requirements, and safety information. Follow their directions for installation, supervision, and checking for wear or damage.
