The majority of people in Gujarat practice Hinduism, which deeply influences the state's culture and traditions. There are also significant Muslim and Christian minorities, along with the Parsis, who follow Zoroastrianism. Gujarat is home to a diverse range of castes, including the Patels, traditionally engaged in agriculture and business; the Brahmins, historically scholars and priests who often held high positions in society; and the Rajputs, known for their warrior heritage. Additionally, Scheduled Castes—also known as Dalits—have faced historical marginalization, while tribal communities such as the Dubla and Warlis maintain distinct cultural identities, especially in rural and forested regions.
For this video, I have prepared the raw genomes of 10 Gujaratis of various backgrounds, 5 of which belonged to higher castes and the other half to lower castes.
I used my trait predictor tool to analyze their genomes.
