UK Edition: Warehouse Order Picking Work Task Box: Location Codes, SEND, KS4 and Post-16
Warehouse and stockroom jobs come up a lot for my learners, and the work is mostly reading codes carefully. A learner who can read B 2 to 4 and not grab B 4 to 2 is a learner a supervisor can trust. This box lets learners practise the reading and the checking at a table before they are walking real aisles. The short picks are on purpose. On a real job, an empty bin is normal, and the right move is to write it up and tell someone, not to grab something close.
How it works
Set up the four shelf grid mats with the 48 item cards. At Level A, learners pull one item by its exact code. At Level B, they pick 3 items and check each one off. At Level C, they pick 5 items with quantities. Three bins are empty at Level C, so learners write 0 and fill out a short pick slip. Learners check their picks against the ticket codes (cover codes with tape if they peek), and you record accuracy and prompt level.
What you get (32 A4 pages plus an editable Word file)

How it fits with my other sets
My Warehouse Job Skills Task Cards teach picking, packing, and forklift safety as site procedure cards. This Work Task Box is a tabletop picking station: shelf grid mats, item cards, pick tickets, short pick slips, self check codes, and a data sheet. No warehouse procedure cards or forklift content are repeated.
Who it is for: KS4, post 16 and young adult SEND groups, supported internships, job coaches and work experience leads. Level A suits emerging readers. The cards are plain text and numbers, so nothing looks babyish. The data sheet gives you accuracy and prompt level evidence you can bring to an EHCP annual review or a SEN Support review under Preparing for Adulthood: employment.
