REEL 102 — OFFGRID Audio

A real tape machine for your DAW. REEL 102 recreates a quarter-inch studio reel-to-reel in the same photo-real style as FloorFX, with spinning reels, backlit VU meters and transport keys that work.

Put it on a mix bus for glue and warmth, on drums for punch and thump, or on vocals for smooth, expensive-sounding air. Push it into lo-fi when you want dusty, warped, vintage character.

What’s inside

• 3 tape speeds: 7.5 / 15 / 30 IPS. Each changes the low-end head bump, the top end, the wow & flutter and the hiss.
• 3 tape formulas: 456 (warm, saturates early), GP9 (clean headroom) and 900 (modern, hot and bright).
• Record section: Input, Saturation, Bias. 4× oversampled tape saturation keeps it smooth.
• Transport section: Wow, Flutter, Age.
• Playback section: Hiss, Tone, Head Bump.
• Output: Output and Mix, with the dry signal time-aligned for clean parallel processing.
• Tape stop / tape start: hit STOP and PLAY for the classic slowdown and spin-up effect. Fully automatable.
• 30 factory presets across Mix Bus, Drums, Vocals, Instruments, Lo-Fi and Creative. From “Analog Polish” and “Boom Bap Tape” to “Dusty Cassette”, “Warped Memory” and “Tape Stop Ready”.
• Built-in help mode: click anything to see what it does. Double-click to zoom in on a section, and resize the window freely.
