May All Your Christmases Be White Socks (White Christmas Inspired) - PDF Knitting Pattern

Christmas is a wonderful time of year in the Almon household; every Thanksgiving, we put up our Christmas decorations, have a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner, and watch the 1954 Irving Berlin classic, White Christmas. We’ve watched the movie so many times that renditions of its show-stopping numbers can be heard in the house year-round. This year, we thought we’d show our love for this movie by releasing a four-pattern White Christmas inspired collection.

These socks are inspired by the final number with the actors in Santa suits, beautiful ballerinas, and all manner of Christmas beauty. These toe-up socks have a simple lace Christmas tree motif. There is an optional bead that can be placed at the tip of each Christmas tree.

Have a seat in front of your Christmas tree with a warm drink, your yarn, and your needles. Happy Knitting!

Thank you so much to everyone involved in the creation of White Christmas, and for inspiring people for over sixty years. ❤

The socks are knit using Judy’s Magic Cast-On, ending with Jeny’s Surprisingly Stretchy Bind-Off.

The knitter needs to be comfortable with the following techniques: knit, purl, k2tog, knit through the back loop (ktbl), p3tog, M1R, M1L, slipped stitches, passing slipped stitches over, yarnovers, and wrap and turns (W+T). Instructions for all these techniques are included in the pattern. In addition, a video tutorial for the shadow wrap technique of W+T for short rows has been recorded by the designer.

There is an optional beaded element that can be added to the sock.

This pattern includes instructions in both written and chart forms for 56 stitch, 64 stitch, and 72 stitch socks.
