Jazz Guitar Mastery - Fretboard Revolutions

Is my new book designed for beginner and intermediate jazz guitarists. It presents a new fretboard model where the traditional 12 x 4-fret positions are reorganised into three main fretboard areas with an overlappng range of eight frets each.

Fretboard diagrams are employed throughout to demonstrate the three-directional approach - Orientation - employed to playing scales/modes, arpeggios, and related chords in each of the three fretboard areas. As such, three directions are possible from the same starting note and from the player's visual perspective: diagonal-left, vertical-centre, and diagonal-right. Used in combination with playing across individual strings, which is also covered in the book, this approach becomes an integrated playing field of Rotational Movements.

There are two sections in the book dedicated to applying this approach to chord progressions, such as the major and minor ii-V-i, the I-IV-V, and the iii-VI-ii-V. Also included are the Coltrane turnaround, and the b5 Ending. I have included several examples, which are also supported by a few video lessons on how to apply, practice and explore the material creatively.

Additional material includes improvisation samples in notation/tab, position-shift fingerings, fingering options, and modal pentatonic scales.  A Left-Hand version of the book will be available from August 1 2022!
