The First 1000 Practice Sheets
Writing Chinese isn't easy and there's no shortcut. So grab a pencil.
Reading a character and writing one are different skills, and only one of them makes the character stick. These sheets take the 1,000 most common characters and give you room to write each one out properly — with a stroke order diagram to follow, so you're building the right habit from the first attempt.
Print a page, fill it in, print it again tomorrow.
What's on each character
- Stroke order diagram — every stroke, in sequence
- Pinyin pronunciation
- Zhuyin (bopomofo) — traditional version only
- English keyword plus extended definitions
- Practice blocks to write in
What you get
Two PDFs — a simplified version and a traditional version (the traditional edition adds zhuyin pronunciations).
How it works
Download and print at home. Print each sheet as many times as you like — that's rather the point. Nothing is shipped.
