Ephesians group Activity workbook

Two weeks ago, we sat down with a group of people and began unpacking the weights that had been holding us down.

Little by little and day by day, we unpacked our pasts. As we released those burdens, we slowly began to see a vision for the future.

Habakkuk 2 tells us to write the vision and make it plain. Proverbs 29:18 reminds us that where there is no vision, the people perish. No vision means no movement—and faith without works is dead.

Last night, we gathered with those same individuals, along with one or two new faces, for a “check-in.” What began as a simple conversation piece quickly became something very real.

Throughout the book of Ephesians, we are reminded of how deeply we are loved and who we are in Christ Jesus. We laughingly called our activity The Ball of Ephesians.

I took the time to write the identities and promises God has given us on a ball, and we tossed it around the room. With every toss, another truth was revealed:

We are chosen.

We are accepted.

We are forgiven.

We are redeemed.

We are loved.

We are His workmanship.

We are strong in the Lord.

I have now written out this activity so other groups and leaders can use it—not because I magically came up with something entirely new, but because we learn from the teachings of others and turn what we’ve learned into materials that help us teach others.

Please use it. Share it. Let every toss remind someone of who they are in Christ.

Be blessed. ❤️
