Drawing Set Change Comparison is an AutoLISP + DCL tool that helps architects, drafters, and CAD professionals compare supported objects from two drawing versions within one AutoCAD drawing.

Select the original objects, select the revised objects, and identify corresponding reference points. The program compares supported geometry and text, then highlights differences for your review.

Features

• Green highlights: Added or unmatched objects in the revised version.
• Red highlights: Removed or unmatched objects from the original version.
• Yellow highlights: Nearby objects flagged as possible modifications.
• Reference-point alignment: Compare versions positioned in different locations within the same drawing.
• Adjustable comparison settings: Set the coordinate grid, review radius, and optional layer-name matching.
• CSV report export: Save comparison results with object handles for follow-up.
• Highlight cleanup: Remove comparison rectangles using a dedicated command.

The program adds highlight rectangles without moving, recoloring, or deleting the original drawing objects.

Requirements & Limitations

Requires full Windows AutoCAD with Visual LISP/ActiveX. Developed to target AutoCAD 2002 and later; compatibility has not yet been verified through testing inside AutoCAD.

Compares two selections within one drawing, rather than opening and comparing separate DWG files automatically. Both versions must use matching units, scale, and rotation. Blocks, dimensions, hatches, xrefs, and other unsupported objects are skipped.

Possible modifications are review suggestions, not confirmed object matches. This tool supports manual drawing review and does not guarantee detection of every change.
