Not What It Seems

Not What it Seems looks like it’s made using Tunisian Crochet but isn’t!

Long linked stitches create a lovely fabric resembling Tunisian Simple Stitch while rows of half double crochet stitches provide visual and textural interest.

Finished Size: The sample has a circumference of 27 inches after seaming and is 11 inches tall (68.5 cm X 28 cm) after blocking.

Not What it Seems is crocheted in rows.

The top and bottom borders are added, and the piece is seamed down the center back into a loop.

The top and bottom borders are folded and seamed to the inside of the cowl. The instructions include options to encase cords within these borders with eyelets for threading the ends of the cords to the outside of the cowl.

The cords can be merely decorative or may be used to cinch the edges of the cowl for a close fit or to style the cowl as a hat!

Terminology: US crochet terms are used throughout the pattern. The equivalent UK terms are referenced.
