“Douce Dame Jolie” – A Haunting French Medieval Ballad

This beautiful piece of music is a well-known jewel of European medieval music, composed by French poet Guillaume De Machaut in the XIVth century. To suit the minimal harmonization of the time period, a simple but efficient "drone-like" accompaniment is provided with the melody. For 12/11 hammered dulcimer or higher.
