QuotaTray — AI Subscription Quota Tracker for Windows & Mac
You are paying for Claude, ChatGPT, Codex, Midjourney, Cursor… and every one of them meters you differently, in a different place, on a different reset day. The first time you find out a quota is gone is usually when the tool says no — mid-task.
**QuotaTray puts every subscription's runway in one tray panel:**
- **Total / used / remaining** for each plan, as one glanceable bar
- **Projected run-out date** — "at your current pace you run out ~Nov 3, six days before your reset" — plus estimated days left
- **Automatic tracking** for Claude Code and Codex: QuotaTray reads the log files those CLIs already keep on your computer, so usage fills itself in
- **Manual plans for everything else** — ChatGPT Plus, Midjourney, Perplexity, API credit budgets: enter the plan's quota and reset day once, log usage with one click, and QuotaTray estimates the rest (manual plans are always labelled "estimate")
- **Any cycle shape**: monthly reset day, rolling N-day windows, or a fixed prepaid period
- **Local-first.** No account, no cloud backend of ours, no telemetry. Your plan data stays on your machine; the token widget's optional self-hosted multi-device sync only runs if you set it up yourself.
QuotaTray also includes full token & cost tracking across 46+ AI coding tools (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Copilot and more), with per-provider limit windows — session and weekly quotas with reset countdowns — powered by the open-source Token Monitor engine.
### Honest limitations (please read before buying)
- Most consumer AI subscriptions have **no official quota API**. Automatic numbers come from the provider's own usage data via your existing local CLI login, or from local log files — the panel always shows which source each number came from. Manual-plan numbers are estimates based on what you enter.
- Run-out dates are **projections** from your recent pace. If your usage spikes or stops, the projection moves. It is an early-warning gauge, not a guarantee from the provider.
- Windows and macOS builds are unsigned during launch (no code-signing certificate yet): Windows SmartScreen / macOS Gatekeeper will ask you to confirm the first launch (on macOS: right-click the app → Open). Step-by-step instructions are in the included QuotaTray-README.txt. Windows builds are delivered inside a ZIP (the store does not accept bare .exe files) — unzip first, then run the installer or the portable build. macOS delivery is ZIP-only in this release (no .dmg).
- The Windows and macOS packages were assembled and content-verified on a Linux build machine; the plan panel itself was execution-tested on Linux. If you hit a platform-specific issue, tell us via the store page and we will fix it in a 1.x update.
- Subscription plans are tracked per computer. Multi-device sync of the token widgets is supported; plan entries are local to each machine in this version.
### What you get
- QuotaTray for Windows (installer + portable, delivered together in one ZIP) and macOS (Apple Silicon and Intel, each as a ZIP containing QuotaTray.app), plus QuotaTray-README.txt with install instructions
- One-time payment. This version is yours forever; no subscription.
- Free bug-fix updates for the 1.x line.
### Requirements
- Windows 10/11 (64-bit) or macOS 12+ (Apple Silicon or Intel)
- For automatic tracking: Claude Code and/or Codex CLI installed and used at least once (so local logs exist). Manual plans work with no CLI at all.

## FAQ
**Does QuotaTray send my data anywhere?**
By default, no. It reads files on your own computer and stores its config locally. There is no account and no analytics. The only exception is the token widget's optional multi-device sync, which sends usage summaries only to a sync hub you run yourself, and only if you turn it on.
**Why can't it just read my ChatGPT quota exactly?**
Because OpenAI (like most providers) does not publish a quota API for consumer plans. Anyone who tells you otherwise is guessing. QuotaTray shows provider-sourced numbers where they exist and clearly-labelled estimates where they don't.
**Is this a subscription?**
No. One payment, keep this version forever.
**Where does the token-tracking engine come from?**
QuotaTray is built on the open-source Token Monitor project (MIT license, included in the download). The subscription-plan runway layer is our own addition.
